Lifeline Voice and Data offers business class SIP trunking service for IP-PBX systems and analog/digital telephone adapters. Our SIP trunks operate on your own broadband Internet connection and we offer unlimited rate plans.

Lifeline Voice and Data provides SIP trunking both to IP-PBX enabled phones systems as well as to just replace old analog phone lines for Legacy (Older) phone systems or phone lines. SIP trunking is a method of delivering telephone service over the Internet to customers that have SIP enabled private branch exchange (IP-PBX) solutions or just replace old phone lines being used by legacy phones systems or phone lines . SIP utilizes both Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) and it replaces traditional telephone lines or PRIs (Primary Rate Interface).

​So what type of connections are available for SIP Trunking?
On Premise SIP Capable PBX or Phone System – If you have a fairly new telephone system or On Premise PBX/ Phone System. Then it most likely is SIP Capable. That means you can we can connect directly to your phone system without needing an adapter to replace the old telephone lines you are now using, or use them in combination with SIP Trunks. It allows for lower cost of operation for your phone needs.

Replacement of Telephone Lines – Maybe you have an older telephone system, an older On Premise PBX/Phone System or maybe you just have one, two or three lines off the self telephones. We can replace the existing phone lines for any of these situations using what is known as an ATA Device (Analog Telephone Adapter). The ATA is a device that connects to the internet and then provides you with telephone jacks in multiple configurations. We can provide one to forty-eight lines using a single device. $ 

​If you have a larger phone system with a PRI connection we can provide the same SIP trunking as above through a PRI gateway adapter on into your phone system. $

Bottom line – no matter what kind of phone service you have today – Centrex, Analog lines or PRIs, we can replace them with our low cost SIP trunking over your Internet service. The SIP trunking service will be the same cost no matter how we connect – the only difference is one time cost for analog or PRI adapters where required.

How is SIP Trunking Delivered?
Sip Trunking is delivered over the internet using VoIP technology. There are really two ways you will see it delivered at your location.
1. Using an ATA (Analog Telephone Adapter) that connects to the internet where the phone lines are plugged from the ATA to your existing phone system or tied into your telephone network.
2. If you have a SIP capable telephone system, we simply plug an Ethernet cable into your phone system and authorize the number of trunks you need.

What are SIP Trunks?
You can interchange the word trunk, call path or even the old term phone line.

I have old telephone lines and although I have 3 phone lines (each has a local number) I only publish 1 number and the rest are roll over lines. So with SIP, would I only need 1 local number?
Yes, that’s correct. With SIP trunks its not necessary for every call path /line /trunk to have a phone. So you would need 3 SIP trunks and 1 local number, although we can issue as many numbers as you would like.

Can I get local numbers for other areas?
Sure, we can issue numbers for any of our 10,000 rate centers. For instance, if you were located in Jackson, TN you could have a Jackson number, plus a Memphis, TN, Los Angeles, CA, even a New York City number.

How much does it cost to have the equipment installed, programmed and connected to my phone system?
The installation price varies, based on many factors such as which ATA you will need, if any wiring needs to be done, location of equipment, etc. so we like to do site survey through one of our partners or work with your IT or Telcom professional to help access your needs.

What about 911 Location Service?
We provide a 911 entry for each location you have so emergency can reach you if needed.

What about Directory listings?
We provide directory listing based on your needs, so you tell us which numbers you want listed.

If my internet goes down, does that mean my phones wont work?
Yes, that is correct. However, you can contact support and we can forward your calls to a voicemail or any other number you wish such as a cellphone until your internet is restored.

If I already have SIP Trunking Service and want to change to US Digital Phone can I?
Sure, just drop us a line and we will be happy to assist you with changing over.
